RE SIGN: redefining the limits of typography.
RE SIGN explores the limits of typography. By systematically de- and reconstructing present day letter shapes a visual vocabulary of thousands of alternate letter shapes was formed: When does a letter turn into a shape with no semantic meaning?
This documents the precise, archival and repetitive process, revealing a complex system and stringent logic.
Each generated shape is assigned a code which reveals the process that produced it.
The project was on exhibited at the annual Typographic Singularity 2018.
